Fair trade

Konsumab 5 J.
Producers in developing countries receive a fair price for their goods. Recognisable by the Fairtrade label. Often a bit more expensive, but ethically better.

Fair trade ensures that producers in poorer countries get a fair price for their products – at least enough to live on.

What fair trade guarantees:

✅ A minimum price above the world market price
✅ A Fairtrade premium for community projects (schools, wells)
✅ A ban on child labour
✅ Environmental standards (fewer pesticides)

Typical fair trade products: coffee, cocoa, chocolate, bananas, tea, cotton. In the supermarket you can recognise them by the blue-and-green Fairtrade label.

Did you know? Sales of fair trade products in Germany have risen by more than 300% over the last 10 years and exceeded €2.5 billion in 2024.
