Savings plan

Sparenab 9 J.
An automatic, regular payment into a savings or investment account. Savings plans start at €10–25 a month – for savings accounts, fixed-term deposits or ETFs.

A savings plan is an automated saving routine: every month a fixed amount is transferred from your current account to a savings or investment account. It happens automatically – you don't have to do anything.

There are different types: overnight money savings plan (safe, flexible, low interest), fixed-term deposit savings plan (higher interest, money tied up) and ETF savings plan (highest return potential, fluctuations possible). For long-term wealth building, experts recommend the ETF savings plan.

Example: €100 a month in an MSCI World ETF with an average 7% return: after 10 years you have approx. €17,400 (with €12,000 paid in). After 30 years approx. €122,000 (with €36,000 paid in). Compound interest makes the difference.

Did you know? Many banks offer ETF savings plans from just €1 a month. The amount matters less than regularity – starting early benefits most from compound interest.
