Apple Pay / Google Pay

Digitalab 5 J.
Paying with your smartphone: your bank card is stored digitally. Hold your phone to the terminal, confirm with Face ID or fingerprint – done.

Mobile payment via Apple Pay or Google Pay works like this: you store your bank card digitally in your smartphone's wallet app. When paying, you hold the phone to the terminal and confirm with face recognition, fingerprint or PIN.

Security: your real card number is never transmitted – instead, a one-time token is generated. This is even more secure than the physical card, because the card data isn't stored anywhere.

Availability: almost all German banks support Apple Pay and Google Pay. Accepted everywhere contactless payment is possible.

Did you know? Around 25% of Germans use mobile payments. That puts Germany far behind China (86%) and Sweden (60%). Cash is still used in more than 35% of all transactions.
