Embedded finance

TrendsErwachsene
Financial services built into non-financial apps: a loan right at the online checkout, insurance in the travel portal, payment in the delivery app. The line between banking and everyday life is disappearing.

Embedded finance means that financial products are seamlessly integrated into other apps and services – without you having to visit a bank or open a banking app.

Everyday examples:

• Klarna/PayPal: credit directly at the online checkout ("pay later")
• Uber: payment automatically after the ride (no card transaction needed)
• Check24: take out insurance directly while comparing prices
• Apple: Apple Pay, Apple Card, Apple Savings – a complete financial world on the iPhone
• Amazon: loans for merchants directly in the seller portal

Why it's growing: customers want financial products where they need them – not in a separate banking app. For companies: an additional source of revenue.

Warning: the convenience can lead to taking out loans more often or buying on impulse. Always pay attention to the costs!

Did you know? Goldman Sachs estimates that the global embedded finance market will exceed $7 trillion by 2030 – making it bigger than the traditional banking sector.
