Order fee

Investierenab 13 J.
The fee your broker charges for buying or selling securities. With neobrokers often €0–1 per order, at branch banks €10–30.

The order fee is the price of a transaction on the stock exchange – i.e. for buying or selling a security. It varies greatly depending on the provider.

Typical costs:

• Neo-brokers (Trade Republic, Scalable): €0–1 per order
• Direct banks (ING, Comdirect): €4–10 per order
• Branch banks (Sparkasse, Commerzbank): €15–30 per order

With savings plans, order fees are completely free at many brokers. That's why an ETF savings plan is particularly worthwhile: no fees, automatic, regular.

Did you know? A single share order at a branch bank often costs €30–50. Since 2019 neobrokers have charged just €1 – a price cut of more than 90%.
