Robo-adviser

DigitalErwachsene
Automated investing by algorithm: you answer questions about your risk appetite and goals, and the robo-adviser invests for you in ETF portfolios. Cost: 0.3–0.9%/year.

A robo-advisor is a digital asset manager. You answer a questionnaire (savings goal, risk tolerance, investment horizon) and the algorithm creates a suitable ETF portfolio and manages it automatically.

Well-known providers in Germany: Scalable Capital, Quirion, Growney, Ginmon, Whitebox.

Costs: 0.3–0.9% per year (plus ETF costs of approx. 0.15%). Much cheaper than a bank adviser (1–2%).

Is it worth it? For beginners who don't feel like picking ETFs themselves, a robo-advisor can be a good way in. But if you read up a little, your own ETF savings plan saves you the 0.3–0.9% fee.

Did you know? Robo-advisers manage more than €20 billion in Germany. Their costs (0.25–0.75%) are much lower than traditional wealth management (1–2%).
