Speculation tax (private sales)

Steuernab 13 J.
In Germany, tax on gains from short-term sales: property within 10 years, crypto within 1 year. Stocks/ETFs: ALWAYS flat-rate withholding tax, no matter how long you held them.
🇩🇪 The detailed explanation is only available in German so far – help translate it!

• Verkauf innerhalb 1 Jahr: Gewinn besteuert (Freigrenze: 1.000€/Jahr seit 2024)

Did you know? The 1-year rule for crypto makes Germany a paradise for long-term bitcoin investors. In the USA, the UK and most EU countries, crypto gains are ALWAYS taxed – no matter how long they're held.
