Savings account vs. instant-access account

Bankingab 5 J.
Both are safe, but different: savings account (3 months' notice, very low interest). Instant-access account (available anytime, better interest). For most people, instant-access is better.

Der Unterschied zwischen Sparkonto und Tagesgeldkonto:

Sparkonto (Sparbuch):

• Zinsen: Sehr niedrig (oft 0,01–0,1%)
• Verfügbarkeit: 2.000€ pro Monat sofort, darüber: 3 Monate Kündigungsfrist
• Online-Banking: Nicht immer möglich
• Vorteil: Vertraut, physisches Sparbuch

Tagesgeldkonto:

• Zinsen: Deutlich höher (1,5–3,5% aktuell)
• Verfügbarkeit: Jederzeit, komplett, ohne Frist
• Online-Banking: Standard
• Vorteil: Besser in JEDER Hinsicht (Zinsen + Flexibilität)

Empfehlung: Tagesgeldkonto ist für jeden besser als ein Sparkonto. Der einzige Grund für ein Sparkonto: „Ich hab schon immer eins“ – und das ist kein guter Grund.

Für Kinder: Ein Sparkonto kann pädagogisch sinnvoll sein (das physische Büchlein macht Sparen greifbar). Aber für ernsthaftes Sparen: Tagesgeldkonto.

Did you know? The classic passbook account pays 0.01–0.1% interest. Instant-access savings currently 2–3.4%. On €10,000 that's a €200–340 difference per year – for 10 minutes of switching.
