Tipping rules

Alltagab 5 J.
How much do people usually tip in Germany? Restaurant: 5–10%, taxi: 10%, hairdresser: €1–5, hotel: €1–2/night. Voluntary in Germany, practically mandatory in the USA.
🇩🇪 The detailed explanation is only available in German so far – help translate it!

Did you know? In Germany, tips are tax-free for the recipient – no matter how much. In the USA, service staff have to pay tax on their tips.
