Economic growth

Wirtschaftab 9 J.
The change in GDP (gross domestic product) compared with the previous year. Positive growth = the economy is growing. Negative = shrinking/recession. Germany 2026: about 1.0%.
🇩🇪 The detailed explanation is only available in German so far – help translate it!

Deutschlands Wachstum (letzte Jahre):

• 2019: +1,1% (vor Corona)
• 2020: −3,7% (Corona-Crash)
• 2021: +3,2% (Erholung)
• 2022: +1,8% (trotz Energiekrise)
• 2023: −0,3% (leichte Rezession)
• 2024: +0,1% (Stagnation)

Did you know? China's economy grew by an average of about 9.5% a year from 1978 onwards – the longest and strongest growth phase in human history. It lifted 800 million people out of poverty.
