Repayment (amortisation)

Krediteab 13 J.
Paying back a loan. The monthly instalment consists of repayment (reduces the outstanding debt) and interest (cost). The higher the repayment, the faster the loan is paid off.
🇩🇪 The detailed explanation is only available in German so far – help translate it!

Beispiel: 200.000€ Kredit, 3,5% Zins, 2% Tilgung = Monatsrate 917€.

Did you know? The average initial repayment rate on German mortgages has fallen from 3.4% (2016) to just 2.2% (2024) – so repayment now takes considerably longer.
