Arbeitab 9 J.
Marginal employment in Germany up to €538/month (2024). Tax-free and exempt from social security for the employee. Ideal for extra income, pupils and students.
A minijob is marginal employment in Germany with maximum earnings of €603 per month (as of 2026, rises automatically with the minimum wage). What's special: you pay no taxes and no social security contributions.
Advantages:
✅ All earnings tax-free
✅ No social security contributions (only a flat-rate pension contribution, from which you can opt out)
✅ Ideal alongside university, school or a main job
Note: if you have a main job, you may only have ONE minijob free of social security contributions alongside it. A second minijob is subject to full contributions.
Did you know? Germany has more than 7 million mini-jobbers. That makes the mini-job the most common form of side employment.
