Sharpe ratio

InvestierenErwachsene
The key measure of risk-adjusted return: how much return do you get PER unit of risk? A Sharpe ratio above 1.0 = good. Above 2.0 = excellent. Named after Nobel laureate William Sharpe.

Formel:

Sharpe Ratio = (Rendite des Portfolios − Risikofreier Zinssatz) ÷ Volatilität (Standardabweichung)

Interpretation:

• Unter 0: Schlechter als das risikofreie Tagesgeld!
• 0–0,5: Unterdurchschnittlich
• 0,5–1,0: Durchschnittlich
• 1,0–2,0: Gut
• Über 2,0: Exzellent (selten über lange Zeiträume)

Beispiel:

• MSCI World: Rendite 8%, Risikofrei (Tagesgeld) 3%, Volatilität 15%
• Sharpe Ratio: (8% − 3%) ÷ 15% = 0,33
• Mischfonds (60/40): Rendite 6%, Volatilität 8%
• Sharpe Ratio: (6% − 3%) ÷ 8% = 0,375

Did you know? William Sharpe invented the Sharpe ratio in 1966 and won the Nobel Prize in Economics for his work in 1990. He later said he simply holds a low-cost index fund in his own portfolio – because most fund managers don't deliver a good Sharpe ratio.
