Maximising your tax refund

Steuernab 9 J.
On average, Germans get €1,095 back. How to get the maximum: collect all work-related expenses, don't forget special expenses, deduct tradespeople's costs, use a tax app.

Die 10 effektivsten Steuer-Spartipps:

Werbungskosten (über 1.230€ Pauschale hinaus):

✅ 1. Pendlerpauschale: 30 km × 220 Tage × 0,30€ = 1.980€ (allein das übertrifft die Pauschale!)
✅ 2. Homeoffice: 6€/Tag × 150 Tage = 900€
✅ 3. Arbeitsmittel: Laptop, Monitor, Bürostuhl (bis 800€ netto sofort absetzbar, darüber: Abschreibung)
✅ 4. Fortbildungen: Kursgebühren, Fachliteratur, Lernmaterial
✅ 5. Bewerbungskosten: Fotos, Mappen, Fahrten zu Vorstellungsgesprächen

Sonderausgaben:

✅ 6. Spenden: Bis 20% des Einkommens absetzbar
✅ 7. Kirchensteuer: Wird automatisch als Sonderausgabe berücksichtigt

Haushaltsnahe Dienstleistungen:

✅ 8. Handwerker: 20% der Arbeitskosten, max. 1.200€ Steuerbonus
✅ 9. Haushaltshilfe: 20% der Kosten, max. 4.000€ Steuerbonus
✅ 10. Kinderbetreuung: 2/3 der Kosten, max. 4.000€ pro Kind

Did you know? The three biggest levers: the commuter allowance (often €500–1,500), tradespeople's services (up to €1,200 deduction) and work-related expenses above the flat allowance.
